Dubai malls aren’t just shopping treasure troves, but core hubs of the city. Some are more entertainment focused, offering top-notch cinema screens and child-friendly areas for all the gang, while others are purely fashion- focused, opening the doors to the latest brands to love every month. Unlike many other cities around the world, these sprawling shopping centres in Dubai are constantly evolving, expanding and adding a bucket load of unique selling points every week, it’s hard to keep up (in the best way possible). So if you’re in need of the lowdown of what’s new and what to do, we’ve rounded it all up for you. For the entertainers Al Khawaneej The Walk Tucked away in one of Dubai’s sleepier suburbs, Al Khawaneej Walk is charming rather than flashy. With cobbled streets, barnhouse-style buildings and fairy- lit fountains, it has all the vibes of a countryside escape, without leaving the city. And with heaps to see and do, plus loads of places to eat and shop, it’s one of the OGs that we love. What to love: Despite its 600 (and counting) retailers, Mall of the Emirates really has it all. Blending luxury and lifestyle in one place, you can find a VOX Cinema, a massive Carrefour (said to be one of the largest in the city), its very own concept store and even a ski slope (complete with penguins). In fact, MOE was the first shopping resort of its kind in the region when it opened. Besides, finding an indoor ski resort and a supermarket in the same place is pretty cool. Where to eat: Whether you’re after a quick bite or a fine-dining feast, this mall does not scrimp on dining options. Try Italian classics at L’ETO, super dim sum at Din Tai Fung, or a luxe meal at Emporio Armani Caffè. Don’t miss Common Grounds for all-day brunch vibes and great coffee.
