This project was a result of a joint venture betweenthem. Light Rail Transit (LRT) – Hassan Allam Holding was the highly commended project. It has contributed in connecting the 10th of Ramadan City and New Cairo with the New Administrative Capital and is estimated to transfer around 1 million passengers daily. The Arab Contractors won Residential Project of the Year at the latest CW Egypt Awards 2021. The construction of the 78 buildings in the New Administrative Capital helped solve one of the main challenges in Egypt-increase in demand for housing as the population continues to grow. The highly commended nomination went to Alamein Towers by Hassan Allam Holding for their 324,000m2 at the New Alamein City, which is one of the fourth generation cities being developed in Egypt. Orascom Construction and The Arab Contractors jointly won the Water Project of the Year at the Construction Week Egypt Awards 2021 for their work on the Bahr Al Baqr Water Treatment Plant. The winning project is a joint venture between both the companies and is the largest wastewater treatment plant in the world with a capacity of 5.6 million cubic metres per day. The TRANSPORTATION PROJECT OF THE YEAR highly-commended in the same category was won by Hassan Allam Holding for its work on the Mahsama Water Treatment Plant, which aims to provide irrigation water to agricultural lands in Sinai peninsula in the east of Suez Canal to irrigate approximately 50,000 hectares of land addressing the lack of irrigation water availability in the area. The Arab Contractors Company’s (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.) Eng. Mofeda Allaam has been recognised as the Engineer of the Year at the Construction Week Egypt Awards 2021. Eng. Allaam was recognised for her engineering excellence and for her dedication to the projects she is engaged on. Meanwhile, the highly commended engineer was Ahmed Mohamed Said from Orascom Construction RESIDENTIAL PROJECT OF THE YEAR Orascom Construction’s Amir Refaat was crowned Project Manager of the Year. He was recognised as a self-motivated project manager who managed cost and time overruns in a professional way. Meanwhile, the highly commended was Eng. Abdelhay Mohamed Badawy from The Arab Contractors Company, who was recognised for several mega transportation projects. The youngest project manager at Hassan Allam Holding Karim Nagui has earned the title of the Rising Star of the Year. The highly-commended in the same category was Aya Fayez of NAGA Architects, who was recognised for her goals oriented nature that has set her on top of her peers. Egypt-based CRC DORRA, under DORRA Group, has claimed the Developer of the Year. Radwan City Metal (RCM) won the Sub- contractor of the Year at the Construction Week Egypt Awards 2021. They demonstrated the best record of progress and delivery for clients, while maintaining an exemplary health, safety, and environment (HSE) record, and showing signs of commercial strength and growth. CORE Engineering was recognised as the highly commended sub-contractor of the year, for working in a diverse and complementary sector and providing engineering, procurement, and specialised works in construction fields. Orascom Construction took home the Contractor of the Year Award, as they demonstrated the best record of progress and delivery for clients, while maintaining an exemplary health and safety record and showed signs of commercial strength and growth over the past 12 months. The Arab Contractors Company (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.) was recognised highly commended contractor of the year as it has achieved many of the national landmarked projects in the past year.
