Sustainability is embedded in the DNA of iGuzzini. We’ve always focused on creating innovative lighting solutions while preserving the environment. The well-being of people, society, and the environment is central to our strategy. Today, all our products are made with at least 80 percent recycled mate- rials, and over 94 percent of our products are recyclable. HOW DOES iGUZZINI APPROACH INNOVA- TION IN COUNTRIES LIKE SAUDI ARABIA, WHERE SUSTAINABILITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY ARE ESPECIALLY CRUCIAL? Saudi Arabia is an excellent example of a region where our products make a signif- icant impact. Our lighting solutions help reduce light pollution and don’t increase the temperature of the surrounding environ- ment, an important factor in a country where extreme temperatures are common. Our products are designed to meet the specifi c needs of the region, helping reduce energy consumption while improving the quality of life for those living there. We’ve been active in Saudi Arabia since 2010, and this year, we’re taking it a step further by opening an offi ce with an inter- active showroom. This will allow us to not only showcase our products but demonstrate their performance and effi ciency. Our investment in the region is a testament to our belief in Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision and the future of sustainable development there. HOW HAS YOUR COMPANY’S PRODUCT OFFERINGS HAVE EVOLVED OVER TIME? At iGuzzini, we’ve moved beyond just producing lamps. We now focus on lighting systems and solutions. A lighting system is modular and fl exible, allowing us to create customized solutions for any space, whether residential or commercial. These systems are adaptable to the needs of the space, and the people who will interact with it. Our intelligent lighting solutions, which incorporate both hardware and software, provide energy savings and improve user experience. By using sensors, these systems can interact with the space to adjust lighting based on the user’s needs, ensuring optimal performance and energy effi ciency. Lighting will no longer just be about visibility; it will be about creating a full experience, tailored to the specifi c needs of each space and its occupants. Once again conceptualised and built by the design fi rm, the space builds on its predecessor, creating a cohe- sive brand identity. Mihir Sanganee, co-founder of Designsmith shares his process on the curated material palette of the space: light veneer wood and textured paints create warmth and luxury, micro cement fl ooring adds contemporary sleekness, and green suede accents infuse subtle vibrancy. “Tula 2.0 came with the challenge of fi tting a full-functionality brief into a compact space without losing the sense of openness,” he shares. The brief called for integrating key facili- ties, reception, yoga and pilates studios, lockers, changing areas, and a shower, within a compact area of 1500 sq ft Enhancing functionality and ambiance without sacrifi cing openness posed a unique chal- lenge. The studio’s design language embraces fl uidity, with soft transitions between tones and materials that echo the fl ow of movement in yoga practice.
