By Yousra Zaki Cool vibes only When the temperatures start to spike, the last thing you want to do is dig into food that’ll make you break a sweat. During the summer months, we say hello to ice cream, ceviche, iced lattes and lots of sushi (maybe not in that exact order). So here are our favourite, most refreshing Time Out Market Dubai dishes that are perfect for those hot summer days. Boon Coffee What: Iced matcha latte. Technically not a dish, but so delicious it’s made it onto the list anyway. Earthy, creamy, and energising – the iced matcha latte at Boon blends finely ground ceremonial-grade green tea with silky milk, poured over ice. O Dhs28. Café Isan Thai What: Fresh spring rolls. Light, fresh and full of colour, these rice paper wraps are packed with crisp seasonal veggies and served with a vibrant homemade almond, mint and coriander sauce. Perfect for a healthy lunch or a refreshing starter. O Dhs45. Fusión Ceviche What: Oyster ceviche. Ceviche, but make it extra fancy. Try fresh Royal No.1 French oysters with rocoto and aji limo leche de tigre, chalaquita and Japanese masago arare. The ideal summer plate to share. O Dhs35 (one piece), Dhs200 (six pieces). Lana Lusa What: Octopus salad. Meaty, smooth and perfectly seasoned, the octopus is the centrepiece of this salad. Which makes it the best kind of summer salad, if you ask us. Parsley, pepper and fresh onion add a taste of the Med. O Dhs66. Masti What: Pani puri avocado ceviche. If you haven’t sunk your teeth into one of Masti’s avocado pani puris, what have you been doing? The avocado ceviche ones are a must-try. With a crispy shell that immediately dissolves in the mouth, this take on classic street food is top-notch. O Dhs40.TIMEOUTDUBAI.COM SUMMER 2025 81 New eats SAY HELLO TO IZU BURGER There’s now another reason to head to the Market – it’s stacked, saucy and made by one of the city’s top chefs. Say hello to Izu Burger, created by Izu Ani – the man behind some of the city’s most celebrated restaurants including GAIA, Alaya and Shanghai Me. So, what’s on the grill? Izu Burger is where wagyu meets Emmental, where milk baguettes hold their own and fried chicken comes with serious swagger. Get messy with Izu fries loaded with plenty of Parmigiano and snack on crispy onion rings topped with cheesy ranch and crunchy beef salami. Wrap it up with Izu’s iconic passionfruit cheesecake (IYKYK). Masti Onda by Alici What: Tuna tartare. Delicate cubes of top-quality bluefin tuna are tossed with fresh chilli and crisp cucumber, finished with a bright, citrusy blood orange dressing. Deliciously cool. O Dhs80. REIF What: Raw salmon carpaccio. Reif Othman is known for his tasty raw creations. One of our favourites is the thinly sliced salmon marinated with citrus, soy and yuzu miso. It’s a cool plate in all ways. O Dhs46. Scoopi What: Salted caramel ice cream with popcorn. You won’t regret ordering anything from Scoopi’s menu, but if you need an ice-cold suggestion, we say go for the salted caramel ice cream with popcorn. Moreish popcorn comes topped with a massive scoop of salted caramel ice cream and covered in a delightfully sweet sauce. Guaranteed to cool you down from the very first bite. O Dhs45. SLAB Cocina What: Tuna tostada Nikkei. Chef Omar Rodriguez’s tuna tostada Nikkei are mouth-sized morsels of Latin American deliciousness. Wait for the perfect crunch of that crispy flour tortilla base as you take your first nibble, then prepare for the mix of truffle mayo, soy truffle glaze, jalapeño, radish and shiso to take hold. Did we mention the truffle? O Dhs65. Three by Eva What: Trio dip platter. A bright and colourful mezze medley featuring velvety hummus, smoky moutabel and tangy muhammara – each made with a little bit of a twist. Served with warm pita, crisp sourdough sticks and ka’ak crackers, it’s a delightful spread that brings tasty Middle Eastern flavours to the table. A must- order for summer sharing. O Dhs54.
