JOIN THE CONVERSATION @timeoutdubaifacebook.com/ timeoutdubai youtube.com/ timeoutgcc timeoutdubai timeoutdubai I am a planner. I like to know what’s happening next week, next month, next year. Dropping brunches, pool days, gigs, shopping trips and date nights into my calendar makes me happy. If a new venue opens, I want to be there. If I see a delicious dish on Instagram, I want to eat it. Otherwise, FOMO. My husband is not a planner. He likes to see how he feels, will follow the crowd, eat whatever takes his fancy. Normally, he’s on my itinerary so all is well. But on the days he ies solo, he’s also okay. Because we live in Dubai, where there is just so much to do. Our round-up of the 100 best activities and places to explore serves us both. I can work methodically through it, ticking off that bucket list. He can dip in and out, visiting places on a whim. Use it, enjoy it, share it. (And don’t forget to plan.) Hello, DXB Louise Charlesworth Editor in Chief TO DXB_409_4 EDS LETTER_12583242.indd 425/08/2022 12:10:53 PMCity life City life Pool rules UNDER FIVES CAN no longer swim in adult hotel pools in Dubai according to new government rules. Children under ve years old are not allowed to swim in adult swimming pools in hotels, according to an of cial circular issued by Dubai Municipality. Kids aged ve years and above must be supervised in hotel pools in Dubai by adults. Check with your hotel on their rules. UAE TOURIST VISAS have been updated and it’s good news for visitors. Your entry-on- arrival stay eligibility has increased from 30 to 60 days. Here’s everything you need to know What are the changes to the UAE tourist visa? The length of time tourists, from certain countries, can stay in the UAE with a visa upon arrival has increased. In addition, a new UAE ve-year multi-entry tourist visa has been rolled out. How long will I be able to stay in the UAE with an entry-on-arrival visa? Before the changes came into place anyone wanting to come on holiday to the UAE could stay for up to 30 days. This has now doubled to 60 days. Great news for those wanting longer holidays or to settle in when moving over before their residency visa is approved. New 60-day tourist visa Who do the new visa-on-arrival rules apply to? So far it seems that if you were eligible for visa on arrival before, you should get the new 60-day bene ts. What if I want to stay in the UAE for longer than two months? The new ve-year multi-entry tourist visa is a new addition to the UAE visa line- up. It allows visitors to stay for up to 90 continuous days without a sponsor. 90 days not enough? The visa may be extended, provided that the entire period to stay does not exceed 180 days in one year. How do I apply for the new visas? For the 60-day tourist visa, each airline has some conditions, which must be met in order for your visa to be arranged by them.
