It is approved for use on Caterpillar’s off- highway truck models globally and indicated in the price lists. Isuzu Motors International said in a statement that it is boldly taking up the challenge of an optimisation for logistic services and plans to connect all its trucks running in Saudi Arabia for future logistics by using the telematics system. The connected trucks enable Isuzu customers to reduce their cost of fleet operation, maintenance and down time while also reducing accidents. ISUZU CONNECT, the telematics system offered by Isuzu, will be installed to all new Isuzu trucks in the Kingdom as a standard feature. Additional functions will be available by customisation upon each customer’s specific needs and wants, said the Japanese truck giant. This new feature of ISUZU CONNECT is also available for existing Isuzu customers upon their request. The telematics system can be installed – or retrofitted - into Isuzu trucks with “Intelligent Durable Common-rail System” (IDCS). All Isuzu trucks since the model year 2018 can be equipped with this IDCS along with other safety features such as ABS, FUPD and Rear Fog Lamp, said Isuzu, adding that it believes ISUZU CONNECT will become the Kingdom’s de-facto standard in telematics systems for trucks, as Isuzu is the “No.1 commercial vehicle brand in the Kingdom”.
