The event, held at the prestigious One&Only Zabeel Hotel in Dubai, provided a critical platform for shaping the HVACR industry’s future amidst rapid regional growth, regulatory developments, and environmental challenges. STRATEGIC DISCUSSIONS LED BY AHRI LEADERSHIP AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek, alongside Senior Vice President of Global Services Henry Hwong and AHRI MENA Managing Director Nabil Shahin, spearheaded the discussions with industry leaders. Participants included key decision-makers from AHRI member companies who explored strategies to align HVACR operations with the evolving regulatory and environmental landscape of the MENA region. Stephen Yurek underscored the importance of pragmatic environmental policies, stating: “For environmental policies to be successful they must be attainable – not aspirational, economically justifi ed and based on a sound assessment of current and future needs, supplies and demands.” ADVANCING REGIONAL ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL GOALS The discussions highlighted AHRI’s pivotal role in bridging the HVACR industry with MENA governments and regulatory bodies. MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS: REGIONAL LABORATORY AND EXPO LAUNCH Two key announcements underscored the event’s forward-looking agenda: Regional HVAC Laboratory in Saudi Arabia AHRI revealed plans for a state-of-the-art HVAC laboratory in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This initiative, a collaboration with GCC LAB, aims to enhance regional testing capabilities and foster innovation in HVACR technology. Launch of “HVACR World” Expo in Dubai AHRI announced the inaugural HVACR World expo, developed in partnership with dmg events and ASHRAE RAL. Scheduled for November 2025 in Dubai, this exclusive event will serve as a global platform for showcasing HVACR advancements and fostering collaboration among industry leaders. SHAPING A SUSTAINABLE HVACR FUTURE The AHRI MENA annual meeting demonstrated a shared commitment to advancing the HVACR industry’s sustainability and innovation.
