Valued at $408.40 million, it is expected to be completed by 2026. 2 The 18-storey development comprises 206 units, including one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, six penthouses, and two exclusive sky villas. 3 Covering a built-up area of 79,000 sqm, the project features distinctive design elements, such as free-fl owing glass facades and minimalist frames. Each fl oor is uniquely rotated to provide uninterrupted panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. 4 Dewan Architects + Engineers designed the architecture, while US-based Hirsch Bedner Associates handled the interiors. 5 China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Middle East) L.L.C. is the main contractor, overseeing construction, completion, and maintenance. This approach shields them from accountability, but it can create a toxic work environment where collaboration suff ers. The only payment on any contract that you will ever receive on time is the advance. Customers often thrive on delaying payments, allowing the accounts department to win brownie points with management. Experience will eat education for breakfast every time. Therefore, c o rporat ions mus t ensur e that experienced people are retained for as long as possible, even if they may seemingly cost more than younger, more formally qualifi ed employees. Staffi ng decisions shouldn’t be made solely to balance male-to-female ratios but rather to ensure the best professional is hired for the job. True diversity goes beyond numbers and focuses on skill, perspective, and contribution. Companies that consistently excel in the small things, rather than focusing solely on the big vision, tend to be the most successful in the long run. The devil is in the detail. Build a brand that customers trust. If customers believe in your reliability, success becomes a natural byproduct, making complex business strategies less essential for sustained growth. “A loyal employee will speak the truth even if it contradicts the management’s vision” THINGS I LEARNED MEP_Dec2024_16-17_7 Things I learned_13442051.indd 17MEP_Dec2024_16-17_7 Things I learned_13442051.indd 1718/11/2024 14:1818/11/2024 14:18www.mepmiddleeast.com18 MEP Middle East | December 2024 COVER STORY www.mepmiddleeast.com COVER STORY 18 MEP Middle East | December 2024 MEP_Dec2024_18-23_Cover Story_13450318.indd 18MEP_Dec2024_18-23_Cover Story_13450318.indd 1825/11/2024 17:5025/11/2024 17:50www.mepmiddleeast.comDecember 2024 | MEP Middle East 19 COVER STORY www.mepmiddleeast.com COVER STORY December 2024 | MEP Middle East 19 BREAKING BARRIERS AND BUILDING FUTURES Noora Alsaleis, named Young Engineer of the Year at the MEP Awards, is not only a rising star, but also a powerful symbol of resilience, vision, and diversity By Almas Tholot MEP_Dec2024_18-23_Cover Story_13450318.indd 19MEP_Dec2024_18-23_Cover Story_13450318.indd 1905/12/2024 18:1505/12/2024 18:15Next >
