This is our 11th publication solely for the MEP Design industry within the UA E. We are delighted to bring this to you, in partnership with MEP Middle East Magazine. We have received contributions across the UA E from candidates and clients who were kind enough to participate to ensure our report demonstrates an accurate overview of the industry. The requests to include average years of experience and desirable qualifications have been included. To produce results that accurately ref lect the UA E MEP Design market in 2022, we have collated information from our own placement records and research ,and combined this with the information our clients and candidates across the UA E have kindly provided us with. The UAE MEP recruitment market as seen through the eyes of James Mowat, director at Energi People Market insights 2022 has been a fantastic year for so many clients across the region who have demonstrated and achieved huge growth. Partly driven by the gigaprojects in Saudi Arabia and now large developments being announced within the UAE. The sheer volume of work in KSA, along with many consultants’ expansion plans into the country, has absorbed a lot of talent from the UAE. With significant salaries on offer, especially with developers, this has meant the talent pool in the UAE has shrunken even further. I am actively working with clients across the region to assist with developing their recruitment strategy, aligned with their resource plans to mitigate resource challenges. We are strongly advising clients to look outside of the UAE for talent from the outset, as the talent pool has shrunken that much. Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss your plans and how we can offer specialist help in this area. Requirements from our clients span a number of levels - from senior engineers, through to Director and General Manager levels. Candidates with data centre experience are in increasing demand, along with principal and associate- level candidates who can stimulate work in the region, lead client meetings and drive digitisation. We are receiving more and more requests from clients for candidates with experience in digitisation and parametric design, as this is an area multiple consultants are investing in (including BIM360 and Digital Twins).
