< Previous10 MEP Middle East | May 2021 www.mepmiddleeast.com The Middle East’s most trusted list of the Top MEP Contractors in the region is finally here! After months of deliberation with key stakeholders across the supply chain, the editorial team at MEP Middle East is excited to reveal its ranking of the leading electro-mechanical contracting firms. The 2021 Top MEP Contractors Power List is a ranking recognising firms that have made positive strides during the past 12 months, implemented best practices, and raised industry standards, even in the face of adversity. To start off, we would like to thank the MEP contracting firms who have responded to our survey questionnaire and provided the required details for this ranking. The criteria for the ranking includes – but is not limited to – the financial health of the MEP contractors; the firms’ top completed and ongoing projects over the past 12 months; the value of the MEP contracts; as well as the size and resources of each company, taking into consideration the number of employees as well as the geographical reach. We have tried our best to ascertain the respect and power that the firms command within the industry; their ability to tender for projects independently; the experience of their senior management; the iconic projects that they have worked on; and the strength of their carry-forward business. The 2021 Top MEP Contractors Power List also offered MEP contractors the opportunity to share how their firms have raised industry standards in terms of training opportunities, energy efficiency, technology adoption, and health and safety. In addition to the firms’ reputation in the market, we have given careful consideration to how each of the companies have overcome pervasive issues within the industry such as supply chain troubles, low margins, high competition, and contractual ambiguities, among others which have been exacerbated by COVID-19. During this evaluation, we have even found firms that have turned challenges into opportunities during the pandemic. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the companies pumping life into the hearts, brains, and lungs – the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing needs – of the Middle East construction industry. We needed to find a segment in the market were our ‘value add’ was required, and we’ve done that.
