Miyatake said: “Delivering good indoor air quality through whole building climate con- trol with energy-effi ciency and comfort will be our core mission in the region.” Business resilience strategy doubles Daikin’s market value to $65billion Daikin MEA Chairman and President Masaaki Miyatake. PRODUCT PORTFOLIO Carrier Transicold’s EverFRESH active controlled-atmosphere system for refriger- ated containers now offers a new carbon dioxide injection option to better preserve low-respiring, high-value perishable cargo. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation, a provider of healthy, safe and sustainable building and cold chain solutions. The latest option allows the container to be pre-charged with CO2 at the start of a voyage and automatically add more over the course of the trip. “The option is benefi cial for cherries, blueberries, grapes, papayas and other low- to moderate-respiring commodities that do not create a lot of CO2 on their own,” said Jim Taeckens, Senior Product Manager, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold. “This technology allows customers to better protect and extend the shelf life of high-value commodities, which is especially important.” Using active controlled-atmosphere technology, the EverFRESH system optimizes the balance of oxygen and CO2 within a refrigerated container to reduce respiration and slow the natural ripening of the commodity by generating high-purity nitrogen to more quickly and responsively displace oxygen. The system maintains a positive pres- sure within the container, making it less sensitive to box air leakage than other controlled-atmosphere methods. The EverFRESH system with CO2 injection is currently available as a factory-installed option for Carrier Tran- sicold PrimeLINE refrigeration systems equipped with the wireless Micro-Link 5 controller. Container atmosphere levels can be securely monitored via a mobile device using Carrier Transicold’s DataLINE Connect app, and Carrier Transicold’s TripLINK data management platform can be used to set and monitor oxygen and CO2 levels. LG plans to offer the UV robot to hospitality, retail, corporate and education customers in the United States in early 2021. “This autonomous UV robot comes at a time when hygiene is of the highest priority for hotel guests, students and restaurant customers,” said Vice President Roh Kyu-chan, Head of the Robot Business Division in LG’s Business Solutions Company. “Consumers can have the peace of mind that the LG UV robot will help reduce their exposure to potentially harmful germs.” To be officially unveiled at Digital CES 2021, the robot is expected to enable a new standard of hygiene. Because of its autonomous design, the robot will be able to move easily around tables, chairs and other furniture, generally irradiating a room’s touchable surfaces in 15 to 30 minutes, disinfecting multiple areas on a single battery charge. Users will be able to monitor progress via remote updates to mobile phones or tablets. Employee exposure to UV rays will be minimized through a built-in safety lock activated by human motion detection sensors, pressing of an emergency stop button or via the mobile application. “A higher level of hygiene will be expected by customers in the contactless ecosystem which we are now facing,” Roh said. “LG is committed to leveraging its diverse expertise in robotics, artificial intelligence and autonomous driving to develop creative solutions to tackle tomorrow’s challenges.” LG announces the development of new autonomous robot with disinfecting UV light MAINTENANCE SERVICES LG has developed a VRF System Mainte- nance service, offering to support businesses in maintaining equipment performance and preventing unnecessary operating expenses. Available to end-customers are various types of service offering modules. Each pro- vides the service attributes of maintenance, parts, and energy management with the goal to increase equipment life and effi ciency for optimal equipment operation. “LG is pleased to offer our valued custom- ers with an intelligent team of service men and women to ensure equipment can run at its best, prolonging equipment life and main- taining quality,” said Jungtae Youm, General Manager Hi M Solutek. “The service team is just one of the ways LG assists businesses beyond initial sales and continues to support product solutions.” Specialized Inspection Ser vices for Customers Regular inspection service by LG experts identify expected problems and issues be- forehand. An expert performs an inspection that checks faults in components and perfor- mance abnormalities in a customer’s HVAC equipment. Catching these problems early prevents further damage to the unit and unnecessary operating expenses through replacement and repair, by early recognition of failures and abnormalities. Improve System Effi ciency with Clean- ing Options It is critical to have VRF products be periodi- cally cleaned by a specialist. Failure to per- form systematic cleaning may harm cooling effi ciency, air quality and health. Eco-friendly cleaning solution performs excellently in response to contamination. The cleaning removes dust and keeps the indoor environment comfortable by cleaning the air-fl ow system which can be subject to pressure loss and optimal airfl ow because of lingering contaminants. Improve heating and cooling effi cien- cies and reduce energy consumption by removing pollutants from the fi lter and heat exchanger. Supply Genuine Replacement Parts Air-conditioning equipment can break down randomly due to changes in the operating en- vironment and circumstances. When aging of parts progresses, failures in- crease. In case of repair due to sudden break down, it is diffi cult to respond to emergen- cies due to excessive costs. Experts provide replacement service with genuine parts when an unexpected break- down occurs and when parts replacement is necessary after regular on-site or remote diagnosis. Comprehensive Monitoring with BE- CON Cloud With the BECON cloud, business operators can monitor and control their HVAC system anywhere at anytime. Comprehensive monitoring of data stored in the cloud server offers analysis results and ongoing reports which allow customers to keep up to date on the operational status of the HVAC equipment. In doing so, this reduces installation costs and improves fl exibility by removing redundant cabling. There is no denying the window of op- portunity PoE technology has created, how- ever, the need for power and data through a singular cable has caused additional infrastructure considerations. Utilising existing cable structures reduces installation time and money, but in order to do this the cable needs to be fi t to accommodate the additional current being transmitted. There are many industries that have successfully adopted the use of PoE, for ex- ample surveillance cameras, air condition- ing systems, telephones and supermarket checkouts. PoE has improved effi ciency and cre- ated opportunity, but without the correct structured cabling infrastructure in place it can experience multiple issues such as overheating or connection issues affecting the integrity of the data for the end user. The adoption of PoE within supermar- kets has made it easier for them to install multiple self-service checkouts in one location. Enabling high volumes of data and power to be transmitted to and from the device over a singular ethernet cable. The fi rst PoE standards were introduced outlining the types of devices and applica- tions compatible with power sourcing equipment (PSE) for category 3 cables and higher. The IEEE 802.3bt was introduced to support devices which required higher power supply such as laptops, televisions and video conferencing, enabling power delivery over all four pairs. When considering which data cables are fi t for operations, there are some key cabling recommendations. If a data cable is exposed to heat, the attenuation of the cable rises and can affect signal performance. For BASEC outlines the development of Power over Ethernet and the adoption of IoT PoE devices in all industries Preparing your cabling for Power over Ethernet this reason, ISO and TIA standards defi ne an operating temperature of no higher than 20°C. When power fl ows through your cables, the copper conductors will start to gener- ate heat and in turn cause the data cable’s operating temperature to rise. This is a common occurrence when the cables are bundled together, which is often how they are installed but prevents heat from escap- ing and causing build up. As PoE standards allow for higher power transmission, as resistance increases a rise in temperature can also be seen for the cable and its surrounding areas. As such this consideration has now become more of a conscious design feature required for data cables destined for imple- mentation in complex infrastructures. The use of higher category cables, in itself, supports higher operating tempera- tures, as the cables are able to support higher levels of current fl ow, which mini- mises the risk of resistance and overheat- ing. For this reason, many current infra- structures commonly utilise CAT 6A cable or higher. There has been an increased use of PoE cables within industrial environments. Fac- tories and warehouses are also increasingly using smart technologies to streamline their business processes, facilitated by the Air-conditioning systems and central control units can all benefit from POE cabling. implementation of integrated devices for optimised data transfer. The use of PoE within these devices reduces the number of cables and removes restrictions in terms of installation, location and more. However, these cables can be more signifi cantly prone to damage. As a direct consequence of the environ- ments within which they are placed, cables can often fall, drop or risk being crushed. This in turn could compromise their ability to transfer data or transmit power. Damaged cables can cause machine out- ages which could have a huge fi nancial implication on the organisation. Today’s networks must be fast and reli- able, with the fl exibility to handle ever- increasing data demands. PoE technology can help expand your network possibilities, enabling business fl exibility by improving processes and staying competitive. PoE, however, is only effective when installed correctly and to the highest standard. Third party testing and certifi cation ensures data cables meet industry per- formance standards. Transmission cables holding the BASEC mark will have under- gone rigorous laboratory product approvals to prove cable quality, allowing you to meet the need for higher data demand and power supply via one PoE cabling product.www.middleeast-energy.com | Explore.
