Everyone is welcome on board and we always make sure our little VIP passengers are carefully looked after. We’ve recently teamed up with Warner Bros. World™ in Abu Dhabi to give all our young guests (aged up to 10) on our longer fl ights fantastic packs to keep them entertained with fun activities on board. Infants are gifted with a DC Super Hero-themed soft blanket, while juniors will receive goodies including a branded backpack, Super Hero cape, water bottle and activity kit. We’ve even decorated one of our Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners with iconic Warner Bros. characters, from Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry on one side to DC Super Heroes on the other. There’s a picture of it inside this issue – or maybe you’re on this aircraft right now. Either way, you can’t miss it. Also, in this issue we take a look at one of our hottest destinations, Portugal’s capital Lisbon. It’s a wonderful city, and one close to my heart having lived and worked there for a while. There are many places to explore: the Alfama District, the oldest part of Lisbon, known for its narrow streets, historic buildings and fado music; the Castelo de São Jorge on the hilltop, with a fabulous view of the city and the Tagus River; or Cascais, a town a little way down the coast that is well worth a visit. Famous for its stunning beaches, historic sites and vibrant cultural scene, the centre of Cascais is a delightful maze of narrow streets lined with traditional architecture, bustling markets and great cafés, off ering visitors a taste of authentic Portuguese life. We are increasing our fl ights to Lisbon to fi ve a week in October and I hope we can boost that even more soon. As we move into shorter days in the northern hemisphere, so thoughts turn to planning for a little seasonal sunshine. Abu Dhabi, with its delightful winter climate, emerges as an ideal destination. More and more people are choosing this city for its warm hospitality, pleasant temperatures and things to see and do, not least at Warner Bros. World™. Our popular free stopover programme gives guests the chance to stay for up to two nights for free. For more details, go to etihad.com next time you plan a trip. Wherever you are going this month, whoever you are with and whatever your age, thank you for fl ying with us. I also want to say a huge thank you to Etihad’s people in the air and on the ground who make your journey safe and enjoyable. They have just delivered an extraordinary peak August holiday season for all of us, and I am very grateful. Their mission is to deliver to you an extraordinary fl ight experience, every day of the year. This architectural beauty is more than just a place of worship but is also a symbol of Moroccan craftsmanship and ambition. Its towering minaret at 210 metres, the world’s second tallest, is a striking silhouette against the Atlantic Ocean. Inside the mosque, intricate mosaics, carved cedar and marble oors create an atmosphere of serene grandeur. As one of the few mosques open to non-Muslims, visitors can experience the beauty and complexity of Islamic art and architecture rst-hand. Beyond the mosque, Casablanca offers a vibrant mix of old and new. The city’s Art Deco district, a legacy of French colonial times, is a fascinating blend of European elegance and Moroccan air. Explore the bustling Old Medina, where traditional souks offer a sensory experience. For a taste of modern Morocco, head to the Corniche, a waterfront promenade lined with cafés and restaurants and a thriving business scene. Casablanca’s energy, coupled with exciting developments, makes it a worthy destination for any traveller looking for a diverse Moroccan experience.
