Healthpoint introduced Mako in the UAE a year ago, marking a noteworthy advancement in the healthcare field. The ‘Mako’ robotic arm is pivotal in various procedures, from total knee and uni knee replacements to patellofemoral and hip replacements. It surpasses traditional techniques, ensuring heightened precision, better outcomes, faster recovery, and reduced discomfort – a substantial improvement in patient experience. Similar robotic surgeries are also widely available worldwide. This innovation stems from Healthpoint’s partnership with the orthopaedic robotic surgeon, Dr. Jonathan Conroy, from the UK. His specialisation in robotic-assisted hip and knee surgery brings expertise to arthroscopic hip procedures and standard joint replacements. The orthopaedic robotic arm-assisted surgical technique empowers surgeons with unparalleled precision during joint replacement preparations. After a patient’s CT scan, an intricate 3D model is meticulously crafted using advanced digital technology. Surgeons gain a comprehensive view from various angles on a computer screen, allowing anticipation of the functional movement of the hip or knee joint. The ultimate objective of the attack was to obtain the targeted users’ credentials Microsoft has reported that a hacking group known as APT29, which is linked to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), conducted phishing attacks on dozens of organisations worldwide, including government agencies. Using Microsoft Teams, the campaign targeted around 40 unique global organisations and appeared to be focused on specific espionage objectives by a group called Midnight Blizzard. It included government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), IT services, technology, manufacturing, and media sectors. The attackers used compromised Microsoft 365 tenants to create new technical support-themed domains and sent tech support lures to trick users of the targeted organisations through social engineering tactics. The goal was to manipulate users into granting approval for multi-factor authentication (MFA) prompts, enabling the threat actors to steal their login credentials. To appear more trustworthy, the threat actors sent messages from legitimate onmicrosoft.com domains, which are automatically used by Microsoft 365 for fallback purposes if a custom domain is not created.
