< PreviousJUNE 2025 3 Julianne Tolentino Associate Editor I’ll be honest—putting together this year’s Power 150 list was tough. We had big ideas. I’m talking 300 pages, glossy, revamped spreads, and more than 20 cover drafts. At some point, someone suggested scented paper. We politely moved on. We wanted this to be a legacy edition, the kind you proudly place on your desk, subtly angled toward your next client meeting. But somewhere between all of the chaos and caff eine-infused late nights, this issue became an all-consuming labour of love. And truthfully? We wouldn’t have it any other way. For decades now, the Power 150 list has been our tribute to the movers, shakers, and sometimes, rule-breakers who shape our skylines here in the Middle East. From developers betting big on the future, to contractors who deliver against all odds, to the unsung heroes in legal, design, and beyond, this is essentially our thank you to those of you getting your hands dirty to build our futures. This year, as always, we’ve divided the list into six sub-sections: Developers, Contractors, Consultants, Sub-contractors, Architects, and Legal Consultants. That way, you can dive straight into your corner of the industry, or explore new ones you may not have crossed paths with... yet. What stayed the same? The rankings tug-of-war. The “Are we sure about this?” Teams messages. The last-minute reshuffl es that nearly gave our design team a meltdown. But more importantly, the team’s collective eff ort in making sure we get it right. Because in this industry, reputation matters, and when we say you’re infl uential, we mean it. So, if you’ve made the list, congratulations. You made headlines. If you’re reading from the sidelines—take notes. Legends aren’t built in a day. There’s always next year. And with that, let’s raise a metaphorical hard hat to the power players of 2025. Signing off , slightly sleep-deprived but very proud. NAILED IT! The launch lit up the skies of Abu Dhabi with a record-breaking 9,000-drone show and a star-studded celebration, setting the tone for what’s to come. JA Sports & Shooting Club in Jebel Ali, Dubai, will launch later this year with construction already underway. The landmark new development has an investment of more than $81.6 million. It is set to be a world-class sporting destination. The ‘Hewi Dubai’ initiative seeks to revive the vibrant spirit of the traditional Emirati fareej (neighbourhood) in a modern, human-centric way by creating new community spaces that strengthen social bonds and promote an active lifestyle. As the UAE continues to attract residents and launch ambitious developments, the strain on road networks has become apparent. In response, authorities have rolled out a series of major connectivity projects aimed at easing mobility and keeping pace with the country’s rapid growth.
