Julianne Tolentino Associate Editor And just like that, the fi rst quarter of 2025 comes to a close. It’s clear that the Middle East’s construction industry is moving at a pace few could have predicted. If we’re being specifi c, the real estate sector is at its peak, with new projects launching almost daily. The team and I had a hectic February, thanks to our back-to-back conferences in Dubai and Riyadh. But despite March coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, the momentum isn’t slowing down. You’ll notice that this month’s issue doesn’t follow a singular theme, unlike last month’s Women in Construction edition—and that’s intentional. Industry stakeholders are working in tandem, analysing reports, and positioning themselves at the cusp of change. Our content refl ects this dynamism, covering, quite literally, all things construction. Speaking of change, our cover star this month is none other than Ali Al Gebely, Founder and CEO of ONE Development. He takes us through his vision for reshaping the real estate sector with highly personalised projects. In his interview, he shares the challenges of entering a saturated market and how he persevered to solve the puzzle. This issue also places a strong focus on the people shaping the industry. From Composite Consult’s Stefan Panourgias and his leadership philosophy to Arquitectonica’s Philip Gillard giving us a glimpse into a day in his life, we highlight the individuals behind the skylines. That said, we’re only just getting started. As we step into April, there’s still so much more to unpack—including two major conferences in May. But for now, I hope you enjoy the stories we’ve put together. Signing off !
