Marking the second year since its redesign to focus on independent stakeholder segment, this year’s list was ranked based on an even more defined set of criteria. The Power 100 ranking is divided into six sub-lists, namely the Top 25 Contractors, Top 25 Developers, Top 15 Consultants, Top 15 Sub-contractors, Top 10 Designers & Architects, and Top 10 Lawyers. These sub-lists collectively form the Power 100 ranking. Each sub-list showcases the most influential individuals within their respective industries, ranked in ascending order. The ranking process relies on several criteria. These include the overall value of projects completed in the past 12 months, the value of new projects secured within the same period, achievements, and successes during that timeframe, as well as initiatives undertaken by organisations for the well-being of their employees and society. To compile the list, the editorial team at Construction Week Middle East reached out to a panel of industry experts across the MENA region to rank the individuals and their respective companies based on a point system. Questionnaires were also distributed to gather information regarding their accomplishments in the past year. The final Power 100 ranking for 2023 was formulated using publicly available data, responses to the questionnaire, and the collective assessment made by the editorial team and the expert panel regarding each company’s achievements in the preceding 12 months. Companies that explicitly requested exclusion from the Power 100 list for 2023 were not considered.| POWER 100 | 24 JUNE 2023JUNE 2023 25 | POWER 100 | Taking over the number one spot this year is Osama Bishai, the CEO of Orascom Construction, a company listed in the UAE and Egypt.
