< PreviousObjects of desire commercialinteriordesign.com August 2022 50 H ere are the five most desired design objects of Sandra Fadayel, the "positive, energetic" Art Director at art consultancy Capsule Arts. An artist herself, Sandra has exhibited her own paintings in Dubai, Italy, and London. Her 14 years of experience in the interior design and art industries allows her to turn stories into incredible art packages. 1 Ingo Maurer: Zettel'z 5 This quirky and creative chandelier was fi rst created in 1997, however its playful spirit remains timeless and resonates with me today. The translucent Japanese paper gives users the capability to customise with their own messages and sketches for an everchanging piece and moments of serendipity and surprise. 2 Venus & The Cat x Katrina Russell- Adams: 'Tools of the Trade' I really enjoy the juxtaposition of the edgy urban art silkscreened onto the delicate, fi ne-bone China pot that was handmade by craftsmen in Stoke-on-Trent potteries. The layering and joyful clash of diverse shapes is representative of the artist's practice, while the refi ned yet imperfect application of the technique brings a sense of authenticity. 3 Naqsh Collective: Tala-Maroon Table What I love about Naqsh Collective is how they continually evolve their body of work in a way that remains true to their story and aesthetic. The traditional motif of the 'saru trees', ubiquitous in Palestinian embroidery, is featured on this carved marble table, with delicate hand-fi nished brass and steel details. A contemporary interpretation of heritage, decorative elements made from traditional palm frond Safeefah embellish the clay stools and tables that can be stacked together to create totem-like sculptures. 5 Bethany Mabee: 'Everything Eventual' and 'Tumblin Up' Bethany Mabee's layered abstract paintings explore the cyclical nature of being human in gorgeous jewel tone colour palettes. I'm energised by her use of bold, unapologetic colour.READY TO SLEIGH?
