Exciting times In the UAE design community, there is no limit to ideas and dreams. After the tallest building and the biggest mall in the world, they somehow reinvent themselves again with another iconic building. Being part of these dreams turned into reality is something that makes every day exciting. It is a joy for Roca to introduce every year new products that meet with designer's requirements for such amazing ideas. Year in review We were very proud to have supplied the bathrooms of the Expo 2020 Dubai Leadership Pavilion and at the same time be a partner to the Spanish Pavilion in different activities during the Dubai Expo. We very much enjoyed organising the Roca One Day Design Challenge and World Water Day. In terms of residential projects, we really enjoyed supplying Marina Vista, Villanova and Park Ridge. FLOCEAN is a sustainable beach lounger that bagged the 'Most Impactful' as well as the 'Most Sustainable Design' awards at the gala. The product is not only built from recycled facemask aggregate but also turns common surgical masks into a striking backlit design feature that reminds us of our impact on the environment. Also, the product showcases how Havelock One is capable of making a designer's vision a tangible reality, no matter the project size, scope or intention. We continue to organise workshops with clients and designers on a regular basis to brainstorm ideas/solutions, picking the right materials, evolving prototypes further while doing R&D on the process and product innovation. Our highlight for 2021 was working for two pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai – Finland and Netherlands – on their joinery and metal work. We recently also did the fi t-out and joinery works for 11 Woodfi re, a restaurant awarded one of Dubai's fi rst Michelin stars, and the fi t-out works of the fi rst AMG Showroom in the world. We recently added a new lighting brand at the showroom, LYM Italia.
