Matchmaking came courtesy of the agency's design LAB incubation programme, aimed at promoting collaborations between manufacturers and designers. From 43 potentials, the Evaluation Committee selected seven designer- manufacturer duos that received funding for finalising and manufacturing the products suitable for series production – including these smart dog houses, equipped with solar panels, exterior and interior cameras, and concealed lighting. Now the scheme launched by HFDA in the spring of 2020 has ended: after a six-month manufacturing process, more than 40 production-ready items are born and some of the pairs have been offered support in capital investment and trademarking by industry experts. One of its special features is its upholstery fabric made of PET bottles and its pillow fillings, which are made of foam waste generated during the production process. TILES chair Balaton Bútor Kft., together with designer Dániel Lakos, manufactured the TILES chair from a design composed of planes and polygons. Built as an aristocratic enclave of mansions in the 19th century, the neighbourhood is now home to showrooms for some of the country's foremost names in fashion. Designed somewhere to feel like something between a spaceship and an articulated lorry (also known as a as semi-trailer), stepping into Wavey It's like walking into a time machine to the future...World view commercialinteriordesign.com June 2021 56 brings the illusion of walking into a time machine in which, through colours and layers of reflections, we travel to the future. Designer Andrés Gutiérrez and his team translated this concept through playful movement and colours that speak of crossing borders between earth and space. Architectural design company TAGH was in charge of executing this ambitious design by Gutiérrez, solving every detail and requirements that the designer envisioned for the place. Part 'Space Odyssey', part tribute to truck driver culture and life on America's highways, Wavey's lighting is a nod to the vibrant flashing lights of customised trucks, with a futuristic reinterpretation of their interiors. The space also alludes to the warmth of being inside a classic vehicle through its fixed display windows with rubber gaskets and rounded contours, whereas infinity walls extend the size of the space and achieve a futuristic feel.
