The main acrylic feature mimics the offi cial wind studies and graphs of Dubai in 2018 to 2019, while the body of the piece incorporates antique brass fi nish, evoking the UAE's heritage. 2Constellation C040 by David & Nicolas The death of a star results in either a black hole or a supernova; here, death is only a transformation, it outshines everything else and evolves into a new life. The Constellation series reminds us of Beirut, this city that was reborn over and over again. Low tables rendered in travertine feature clean lines and undisturbed surfaces that are understood to represent the new beginnings of a celestial body. 3Patricia Urquiola's Patcha Hand-knotted rugs made from ALJOUD LOOTAH An Emirati designer of bespoke furniture and collectibles that appear in places such as The Mandarin Oriental Dubai Jumeira, DXB International, and the UAE's Ministry of Presidential Affairs. She's also the fi rst Emirati designer to have her work acquired by an international gallery Himalayan wool and recycled silk utilise the patch-work spontaneity of mixed-media collage, where Urquiola expresses the gesture of overlapping and assembles strips. Central to the creative process is the investigation of upcycled materials, breathing new life into once discarded wool and cast-off silk from Indian sari production. 4Totem lights by Sabine Marcelis A continuation of the designer's fascination with the interaction between light and cast resins, the new series is built up of several stacked translucent resin volumes, which are slightly rotated on a central axis. The carved out void where the neon light is inserted allows for a multifaceted play between the twisted planes of polished resin and light refl ections. 5StudioPepe's Five to Nine A modern daybed that could turn into waiting seat, maintaining the allure of a modernist interior. This iconographic seat is made by a sequence of roll cushions individually inserted in the structure that can be upholstered in leather or fabric. 1 2 3 4 5THE MARKET-LEADING PLATFORM FOR THE INTERIOR DESIGN AND FIT-OUT INDUSTRY COMMERCIALINTERIORDESIGN.COMSetting oneself apart from the masses.
