The Kingdom's commercial interior design industry is thriving, so we wanted to hear what it's like on the ground in KSA. This issue, we're also sharing illuminating content from the lighting design industry. Our 12-page special report contains case studies from home and abroad, opinions, interviews and new products from the sector, with a focus on smart lighting and its evolution so far. What else is lighting up our lives? The interiors of Izil Spa by Brand Creative, for one. Growing the beauty brand from a kiosk to store and spa in The Dubai Mall has been quite the journey, taken via historical Morocco and Imazighen culture. Our new products feature for February takes us on a trip to India's 800-year-old Jaisalmer Fort, where artisan rug maker Jaipur launches a collection of silks with interior designer Vinita Chaitanya. Don't pack away your passport just yet; our desired object for this month is by Danish designer Verner Panton. After all this travelling, there's no place like home, or our second home of the offi ce. That's where we'll be spending a lot of time from next month, as we launch the Commercial Interior Design Awards 2022 – you heard it here fi rst! Published by and © 2022 ITP MEDIA GROUP FZ-LLC. Trusted UAE astronomer and member of the Arab Federation of Space and Astronomy Sciences, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, predicted that Ramadan in the year 2022 is expected to fall on at the start of April. Xposure 2022 will feature several award-winning photographers who bring out the dynamism of buildings and urban architecture with carefully conceived shots. Majid Abdalla Al Bastaki, an architectural photographer born and raised in Sharjah, will showcase images that capture the culture, art and beauty of the emirate while Dutch photographer Iwan Baan records the many ways people shape their shared built environment — from high-architecture to handmade homes. They make up 57 of the world's leading photographers who will showcase their works over seven days, from 9 February to 15 at Expo Centre Sharjah. This year the festival will also enjoy a permanent legacy, as in December 2021 His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated Gallery X, a long-term gallery curated by the Xposure team.
